Travelers visiting the islands of St Vincent and the Grenadines will likely first fly into the new, multi-million dollar Argyle International Airport (AIA) on the main island of St Vincent. There are eight airlines who provide regular scheduled flight service from international gateways including American Airlines out of Miami and Air Canada Rouge from Toronto’s Pearson International Airport.
Travelers can also travel directly to Grenada’s Maurice Bishop International Airport (GND) which also serves as a gateway to the Grenadines. JetBlue, American Airlines, Delta and Caribbean Airlines operate direct flight service from the US while Air Canada Vacations offers direct flights from Toronto. British Airways and Virgin Atlantic fly twice-weekly into Grenada from London Gatwick and Condor from Germany.
Argyle International Airport
The Argyle International Airport (AIA) boasts a 9,000 foot long runway with modernized landing and navigational aids. The new facility was built to accommodate 1.2 million travelers per year with an expansive cargo terminal for imports and exports.
When traveling through the multi-million dollar facility, travelers can access The Bank of St Vincent & the Grenadines foreign exchange bureau in the arrivals hall for foreign currency conversions as well as other banking services.
The new terminal also offers a conference room (available as rental), and seats up to 14 persons. The room is available on the first floor above the Arrivals Hall.
Both short and long term car parking is available at the new facility. Reliable taxis and car rentals are available on-site.
Maurice Bishop International Airport
The Maurice Bishop International Airport (GND) is located in Port Salines in the southwestern point of Grenada – about 8km/ 5 miles from downtown St. George’s.
The international airport is an important hub for the Southern Caribbean region and the Grenadines with a number of direct flights from the US and Canada, the UK and the wider Caribbean region. Travelers wishing to continue onwards to the island of Carriacou can enjoy a short flight to Lauriston Airport.
